I do feel very inadequate that I can't understand a different language than my own.
Luckily for me, and the rest of you, Google offer a very good translation tool if you use Firefox as a web browser, right click your mouse, and Page Info, and voila... english. (sort of)
To go on your own adventure through the japanese sims, I found a guide to them
SLGuide.jp where you can search through different categories.

Slurl HUD
One item that I found very useful, is a hud that you attach that can send a Slurl directly to a designated email address.
There is a notepad included explaining how to set it up and once working can send landmarks of places you have visited to your email address and from there you can copy and paste them into your blog.

MNK
I first found MNK whilst visiting Qoo. (link to slurl here)
Their main store is located at Americamurac (link to slurl here)
Whilst I was there, I met two of the designers, motoka Arai and nyanchi Eel. They were lovely to talk too and said if I had any problems with fitting, they would gladly help.
I will definately visit them again.
